Pauline Mayer Shelter Birthday Parties

The Pauline Mayer Shelter is a temporary housing facility for children who are removed from their home due to unsafe family conditions. The children, placed there through no fault of their own, reside at the shelter until they are placed in a suitable foster care home.

This Junior League program is dedicated to celebrating the birthdays of children who live there during their birthday month. Volunteers organize a fun party environment, order pizza, cake and drinks plus purchase presents for each birthday child and party favors for all attendees.

Besides party preparations, volunteers spend qualitytime with the children playing literacy games and reading books together. The project is one Saturday each month throughout the year.
