Kids in the Kitchen and Boys / Girls Club 2011KIDS IN THE KITCHEN

Kids in the Kitchen seeks to empower kids to make healthy dietary choices.  Using AJLI's national initiative as a model, this program's primary focus is nutritional literacy.  JLOC volunteers participate in planning and executing events, menu planning, and basic healthy choices to 315 children at the Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County.

Prime Time
(formerly called Someone's Grandma) provides literacy-based activities, in a variety of focus areas, for senior citizens. Volunteers will work with active, vibrant seniors who frequent the facility. Within this project, volunteers provide literacy therapy for the spirit, mind and body as well as companionship and social interaction.
