Guest Chef Nights

Junior League volunteers prepare and serve a healthy, nourishing dinner for guests of the Ronald McDonald House, who are family members of seriously ill children receiving medical treatment in the Oklahoma City area.

JLOC “Guest Chefs” help these families by providing a healthy dinner to nurture them and relieve them of the burden of cooking during a time when they are often feeling overwhelmed with making decisions about their child’s treatment. JLOC volunteers plan the evening menu and shop for the ingredients, prep and cook the dishes on site using the Ronald McDonald House industrial kitchen, and help provide a sense of normalcy for families whose children are receiving medical care. JLOC volunteers also package “late plate” meals for families who are unable to attend during dinner so no family will miss the opportunity to each a home cooked meal.
