Volunteers work with our project partners to solicit, collect, sort, box and distribute new and gently used children's books. The collected books will be distributed to JLOC community project partners as well as at a major distribution event in August at the Metro Transit Authority facility downtown. Volunteers will be involved with all aspects of this drive including various publicity events; managing the collection sites, including sorting, collecting and boxing of books; distribution to JLOC partnering agencies with a major distribution event at Metro Transit; and storing sorted books until collection is over.
THE 2010 BOOK DRIVE WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!
This year’s book drive raised 13,140 books for our community: a 31% increase over their goal! Thanks go to the Bank of Oklahoma, Tate Publishing, and the incredible support of our JLOC members for making this book drive one of our most successful. Congratulations to Jennifer Harrison and her amazing Book Drive committee!
